Many orphanage foundations in Indonesia continue to face limited support, including the absence of regular donors to help maintain their facilities. This situation often affects their ability to provide safe and adequate living environments for the children under their care.
A similar challenge was previously experienced by Al Arif Orphanage in Kasemen, Serang, Banten, where the building’s roof had suffered severe damage and was at risk of collapse. The roof covered vital areas of the orphanage, namely the kitchen and bathroom facilities, which are used daily by the residents.
In response to these conditions, PT Tugu Reasuransi Indonesia (Tugure) took the initiative to renovate the orphanage’s roof as part of the Company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. The renovation was completed in December 2025 to ensure that these essential facilities could once again be used safely and comfortably.
Tugure’s Finance Director, Dradjat Irwansyah, stated that supporting social facilities such as orphanages is part of the Company’s commitment to implementing sustainable social responsibility programs.
“We understand that many social institutions still require support to maintain the facilities used daily by the children in their care. Through this renovation, Tugure hopes to help create a safer and more comfortable environment for the residents of Al Arif Orphanage, particularly in the kitchen and bathroom areas, which are vital facilities for their daily activities,” said Dradjat.
He added that the initiative forms part of Tugure’s broader commitment to delivering CSR programs that generate tangible benefits for society.
“Our corporate social responsibility programs are designed to create sustainable impacts. Going forward, Tugure also plans to gradually improve other facilities to support the comfort, safety, and overall suitability of the orphanage environment,” he continued.
The completion of the roof renovation was announced during Tugure’s Ramadan Social Charity Program 1447 H, held at Al Arif Orphanage on March 11, 2026, as part of the Company’s series of social initiatives during the holy month of Ramadan.
Through the consistent implementation of various CSR programs, Tugure hopes to continue making a positive contribution to society and helping improve social welfare within the communities it serves.
