Tugure Initiates Collaboration with Pandawara and Bekasi City Government for River Clean Up Program

Bekasi, August 27th 2025 – PT Tugu Reasuransi Indonesia (Tugure) once again reaffirms its commitment to environmental issues through a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program entitled “Tugure River Clean Up.” The activity, held on August 27, 2025, at Kali Kapuk, Bekasi City, was organized in collaboration with Pandawara Group and the Bekasi City Government.

This program is a follow-up to the Tugure Charity Golf Tournament, where the collected donations were transformed into concrete action for river clean-up. Tugure hopes that the synergy between the business community, youth communities, and the government can further strengthen the spirit of protecting environmental cleanliness, especially as this activity coincides with the commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of Indonesia’s Independence.

The event holds not only ecological value but also historical significance. Kali Kapuk was the site of the Sasak Kapuk Tragedy on November 29, 1945, when the People’s Militia led by KH Noer Ali, alongside TKR M. Hasibuan, confronted Allied forces. The battle claimed many lives and is remembered as part of the Bekasi Lautan Api (Bekasi Sea of Fire) event.

On this occasion, Bekasi Mayor Dr. Tri Adhianto Tjahyono emphasized that this initiative aligns with the city government’s agenda to tackle waste management issues.
“Waste is a recurring problem that requires collective solutions. Therefore, we greatly appreciate the efforts of Tugure and Pandawara Group in creating real synergy. This Independence momentum should be interpreted through action—protecting rivers as sources of life. This collaboration aligns with our ongoing programs at the Bekasi City Government and serves as the beginning of behavioral change in waste management among the community,” he stressed.

Meanwhile, Pandawara Group views this activity as proof that shared concern can create greater impact. Muchamad Ikhsan Destian, representing Pandawara Group, expressed his hope that this collaboration would be sustainable.
“We believe environmental action will have a greater impact if done together. The Tugure River Clean Up Program proves that the business sector, communities, and the government can move in unison. We hope initiatives like this continue in the future—for cleaner rivers, healthier environments, and better cities,” said Ikhsan.

Teguh Budiman, President Director of Tugure, also emphasized that donations from business partners have truly been realized into concrete actions.
“This activity is a follow-up to the Charity Golf Tournament, where togetherness with our business partners is manifested in real action. On behalf of the management of PT Tugu Reasuransi Indonesia, I extend my deepest gratitude to the Bekasi City Government, Pandawara Group, and all business partners who participated through donations for this program. These contributions are not only meaningful for environmental sustainability but also serve as a tangible expression of our shared concern for the preservation of ecosystems and the future of generations to come,” Teguh concluded.

In addition to cleaning up piles of waste in Kali Kapuk, the activity also featured environmental education for the community through social media campaigns. Tugure affirmed that this initiative is part of the company’s commitment to realizing sustainable growth, focusing not only on business but also on the environment and society.
