Jakarta - In commemoration of World Blood Donor Day, which falls on June 14, 2023, PT Tugu Reasuransi Indonesia (Tugure) organized a blood donation event titled "Give Blood to Save Life" at its office in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Erwin Basri, the Operational Director of Tugure, explained that besides commemorating World Blood Donor Day, they also aimed to help the blood supply at the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI), with whom Tugure collaborated for this event.

"This is a noble activity of helping others, as we are aware of the significant need for blood in Jakarta. By organizing this event, we hope to contribute to increasing the blood stock targeted by PMI itself," said Erwin.

The blood donation activity held by Tugure is a regular program carried out continuously, at least once a year. This activity is part of the company's corporate social responsibility (CSR) program in the field of health.

Furthermore, Erwin stated that the blood donation activity was intended for the Tugu Group. In addition to Tugure employees, several parties from the company's business partners were also involved in this social activity.

"The number of registered participants today has reached 174 people, and it may increase. Hopefully, we can reach the target set by PMI, which is 200 bags of blood for this event," Erwin expressed.

Meanwhile, H. Syarifuddin, the Chairman of Resource Development Division of PMI DKI Jakarta, expressed appreciation to Tugure for organizing the blood donation activity. He mentioned that it would help the people in Jakarta who were currently hospitalized, as well as children suffering from thalassemia who require blood transfusions, and parents with kidney failure.

"All of these activities are very noble because conducting blood donation means saving many lives today," concluded Syarifuddin.
