Tugure and Pandawara Raise IDR 207.5 Million to Clean Rivers Through 2025 Charity Golf Tournament

BOGOR (July 12, 2025) — PT Tugu Reasuransi Indonesia (Tugure) once again held its annual golf tournament, Tugure Charity Golf Tournament “Sunkissed PAR-adise”, at Sentul Highlands Golf Club. The event brought together 152 participants from various business partners, serving as a platform for both sportsmanship and industry networking.

More than just a sports competition and networking event, this tournament also carried a strong social and environmental mission. This year, Tugure collaborated with Pandawara Group to raise funds in support of river and environmental clean-up efforts in the Greater Jakarta area (Jabodetabek).

“Through this Charity Golf Tournament, we aim to strengthen partnerships with our business associates while showing that business synergy can go hand in hand with care for the environment and society,” said Teguh Budiman, President Director of Tugure.

It is hoped that initiatives like this will help improve environmental conditions, especially in reducing the risk of flooding, which often causes harm to local communities.

“This effort also has a direct impact on the insurance industry’s performance, particularly in minimizing claim risks due to flood disasters,” Teguh added.

Pandawara Group, a youth-led community widely recognized for its inspirational actions in cleaning rivers and the environment from waste, was chosen as the main partner for this initiative. Since its establishment in 2022, Pandawara has successfully cleaned over 150 river sites and watershed areas (DAS) across West Java and Jakarta, removing hundreds of tons of plastic and domestic waste.

“We deeply appreciate Tugure and its partners’ involvement in the environmental movement. This collaboration proves that major corporations have a strategic role to play in accelerating social change,” said Muchamad Ikhsan Destian, a representative from Pandawara Group.

According to data from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), more than 80% of rivers in Indonesia are polluted—primarily due to domestic, industrial, and agricultural waste. Of the 564 monitoring points, around 59% of rivers are heavily polluted, 26.6% moderately polluted, and 8.9% lightly polluted.

The tournament successfully raised IDR 207,500,000, all of which will be allocated to support river clean-up operations in priority areas across the Jabodetabek region.

The enthusiasm of the 152 participating business partners reflected the strength of Tugure’s industry network, as well as a shared commitment to sustainability efforts.

The event was supported by IBS Reinsurance Broker in partnership with Gallagher Re, Cipta Colemon Asia Reinsurance Brokers, AON Reinsurance Brokers Indonesia, Star Asset Management, Hannover Indonesia, Igna Asia Reinsurance Brokers, Adonai Reinsurance Brokers, BRI Asuransi Indonesia, and other partners.

Tugure remains committed to broadening its impact not only in business but also in creating positive social and environmental change. Through various sustainability initiatives and strategic partnerships, Tugure believes that business growth must always align with care for people and the planet.
