Tugure Holds Sharing Session on Underwriting Fundamentals

Jakarta – As part of PT Tugu Reasuransi Indonesia’s (Tugure) commitment to continuously transfer knowledge to its business partners, Tugure held another sharing session in Jakarta on Wednesday (5/6).

With a focus on Crude Palm Oil (CPO) Manufacturer and Warehousing, Tugure delegated Group Head of Property & Energy, Aries Karyadi, as the speaker for the event, which was attended by underwriters, marketing teams, claims teams, and all branch leaders of PT Asuransi Wahana Tata.

“The goal is to enhance the capacity and competence of our partners by providing knowledge on CPO occupation and warehousing from a reinsurance perspective, while also maintaining strong relationships with our business partners,” said Aries.

The session covered the characteristics of CPO manufacturing and warehousing occupations, from general processes to potential risks. For CPO, the most common types of losses are fire or mechanical damage to conveyors.

“Regular maintenance is the most important step to prevent fires or damages,” Aries explained.

In preventing warehouse losses, Aries noted several key aspects, including safe fire distances, component quality, proper installation, routine maintenance, the availability of adequate fire extinguishing equipment, and electrical protection measures.

Through Tugure Academy, Tugure regularly organizes training and knowledge-sharing sessions for business partners. Each session hosted by Tugure Academy is designed to provide an in-depth understanding of various critical aspects of the insurance industry by featuring experts and experienced practitioners. Tugure ensures that each topic presented is relevant and applicable, assisting partners in facing real-world challenges.

“Tugure continues to strive to share insights with the market regarding risk and the underwriting process, based on Tugure’s experience and statistics,” concluded Aries.
